Kristin Burns, nanny and aspiring photographer, appears to be on the brink of having it all. She is nanny to two children she adores, is close to winning the man of her dreams, and her ultimate dream of a career as a photographer appears about to come true. However, Kristin’s life takes a frightening new turn which begins with a recurring nightmare that may or may not be coming true, and continues as Kristen has encounters with people from her past…people long dead. These events, coupled with the anxiety of someone discovering the man of her dreams is the father in the family she works for, send Kristin down a terrifying path to discover if what is happening to her is real, imagined…or something worse.
All of the adjectives used for describing great thrillers…such as exhilarating, suspenseful, exciting, spine-tingling, electrifying…are all fitting to describe “You’ve Been Warned!” From the very first page, readers will be drawn into this book. I discovered once I began reading this book, I could not put it down until I read the very last word. The short chapters add to the fast-pace and intensity of this book. The authors have created a story packed with puzzling events that are clues to the startling and unexpected ending. Although he departs from the detective thriller, James Patterson does not disappoint with this gripping story. A must-read for fans of James Patterson and suspense novels!

I love James Patterson's books and collect them, however, the book "You've Been Warned" is one book that I am sending to Half Price Books!

I've long been a Patterson fan, but the co-authored book I just picked up "You've Been Warned" is so poorly written. I can't believe Patterson had anything to do with it. I can't imagine Patterson had much to do with this book besides putting his name on it and collecting royalties. I'd steer clear ... "You've Been Warned."

I was a very lucky girl me. My hubby, who works at the airport has a Hero ability! Like the USA show! Yes, my husband is a HEROE too! He has the knack of finding the books I want to read... on the seat of airplanes! Maybe I should write a short story about it. I would love to write with Mr J P, he is amazing.
Shortcut, got the book, read it with absolute passion, even after midnight when my eyelashes were damned heavy and almost feeling merry after a couple of beers, anyway had to read! James is a drug what can I otherwise write?
On Chapter 28 I realized who was the person in the bag, altough her dad was also a suspect.
Is James going to write a sequel on You've been warned? Can I write a chapter??? Please!!!!!!

I am an avid James Patterson fan and could not wait to read this book. I should have saved my money - it was poorly written and the end was awful. Was Kristin crazy or dead? what happens to her photo exhibit? Maybe James Patterson needs to focus more on quality than quantitiy and stop churning out these books that do nothing for his reputation. A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT!

In response to Carol Barclay who had me thinking about the message in this book, I would like to add some of my own comments. We did read of Kristin's nightmare when she was on the brink of going to hell. However, she was given a second chance on life and the warning is surely to do our best and be the best we can be on earth so as not to experience hell in the way that Kristin did. It was Kristin who winked at us at the end of the story not the police officer. The story is cohesive in that it is all about her being dead in the whole story. Who edited your comment?

This is not a Patterson book to be proud of! The times, the characters, the plot all seem wierd and incoherent. Come on James, let's put this mistake behind us and move on to your usual fantastic fare!!!

I have always been a fan of James Patterson and tries to read all his books. But this book 'you've been warned' is disappoiting. I found the newspaper quotes at the back of the book misleading and wrong. I do expect better from him as an author and i hope this is not the beginning of crap books.

What a disappointing ending. You have been warned about what!? Clearly we are left to believe that Kristin Burns is left to her own personal hell of a reoccuring nightmare for eternity from her sinful past. OK, but has she been dead already? Did we just read her 13 minute nightmare for what, the first or millionth time? What exactly was the warning and the wink from the female officer that finds her alive? Redemption from Him or the devils due? The fact that people have already recognized her as "a devil" suggests that she is already dead. This lack of cohesive writing makes the ending a disaster. Poorly done, James. Who edited this thing?
